Meet Elvis!

I'm so excited I could spit! Two weeks ago, I ended my horse hunt for a new equine partner to bring along as my levels horse and additional equine buddy.

I finally was drawn to a horse that was located in a place very special to me in the Baraboo Bluffs, AND his sires name is "Murphy's Law"!  Some of you may not know but my horse "Changing Murphy's Law" is my best buddy and my spiritual connection, so finding Elvis and having this immediate connection with him told me he was the right horse for me.  After several visits, I decided to bring him home to Ron's in Cross Plains.

In working with him for about 2.5 weeks, we've been working primarily on our relationship and nothing else...boy have I been learning!  I've been reviewing all of my basic horse behavior information from Mark Rashid, Parelli, and other naturals, and I'm amazed at how fast Elvis picks up the things.  It's great working with a green horse who has only been taught to lead and nothing else, it's like a clean slate.

So on June 21st, Emily Kemp (trainer extraordinaire) will be at Top of The World giving lessons, and I can't wait to see what she thinks of Elvis and my progress, and what she leaves us with for homework.

This is the first ever youngster that I'm working with, and I have to say it has been a wonderful journey thus far, and I can't even imagine how great it will be one year from now.  I've taken a video of us playing together so that we can take another next spring and reflect back on our journey and how far we've come.

I'll keep posting news here, so please stop by and visit from time to time, and let me know what you think!  More pics and videos to come so stay tuned:)

Elvis looks like quite a character. I hope that I get a chance to meet him!

Anke, Elvis is a cutie. This will be an exciting journey for you. I'm glad to hear you have a trainer in the mix to help guide you as you learn with Elvis. Are you going to post the video? Nanette

Congrats on the New Horse

What a beautiful Horse Anke, can't wait to meet him!

He's beautiful! And how serendipitous (the names)! I do love how Spirit works in our lives, don't you? I have always found working with youngsters the most satisfying part of horsemanship. Enjoy! - Cindy

Thanks Cin!  Yes, he's my first youngster to work with, and so far what a hoot!  He learns so fast, and then he's got it...very nice:)
